What do you want to know?

I am currently a third-year Marketing major at the University of Georgia with an emphasis in Digital Marketing. I am also pursuing minors in Communication Studies and Design & Media, and certificates in New Media, Music Business, and Workforce Diversity.

I chose to study marketing because I enjoy its versatility. Marketing is in almost every facet of our lives and has the power to make a real difference in the world. Although I am not completely sure of what I want to do in my career quite yet, I know I want to do something meaningful. By pursuing minors and certificates in such varying areas, I like to think that I am setting myself up with options for a successful and impactful future.

Open-mindedness. I have always been a very open person. I enjoy broadening my perspective in any way I can. I love adventure and am always game to exploring uncharted territories. Life has been known to throw me a few curveballs, but being adaptable and open is how I have managed to overcome those obstacles.

Independence. I was raised to understand the importance of being independent. At the end of the day, all you have is yourself. You have to be assured in your value and your worth before you can truly be the best that you can be.

Connection. With that said, I strongly value my relationships. From my family to my friends to my networks, I believe that you should invest in your relationships with others because you are investing in yourself. Treat others with kindness and respect, and the same energy will find its way back to you.

Growing up, film always found a way to captivate me. Being immersed in other perspectives enabled me to empathize with others and expanded my knowledge of human experience. Sometimes we get so caught up in the chaos of our own lives that we forget that the world is so much bigger than ourselves.

There are not enough hours in the day for me to listen to music. Similar to film, music acts as an escape for me and brings me back to Earth. Sometimes, all we need is to spend half an hour tuning out the noise of life so that we can really appreciate life. Here are some of my favorite tracks.

With a restless soul and desire to see everything the world has to offer, traveling has always been a passion of mine. My favorite part about traveling is the people you meet. It is so interesting hearing other people’s stories, and traveling allows you to cross paths with the most fascinating people. My goal is to one day travel to all 7 continents.

Here are things that I have done.

NMIX 4110: New Media Production

I took this course as part of my New Media certificate. The certificate program strives to give students an understanding of new media technologies and their application to a chosen field. In this course, I learned how to use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It is where I learned how to code this website. The link above has a list of all the assignments we did for the class, including the first iteration of the website you are on right now.

MARK 4450: Social Media Strategy

In this course, I learned the history, importance, technology, and strategic uses of social media as a part of marketing strategy. In my brand comparison paper, I analyzed and compared the digital presence of two major companies. I examined the strategies of Warby Parker Eyewear and Zenni Optical on eight different platforms and compared them to each other.

Here are examples of past graphic works I have created. Most were created for specific events for clubs and organizations, and others were created for my job with Zero Mile Marketing for some of our clients.

Personal Instagram

A person's social media is their personal brand. I have used my personal Instagram account as a means to cultivate a brand for myself. I try to post visually appealing photos that capture a more interesting version of my life while also trying to incorporate humor and my personality into my content.

ARST 3205: Digital Video I

This was the first class I took to fulfill my Design & Media minor. Directed by the Lamar Dodd School of Art, this minor is unique in that it combines focuses on time-based media, photography, and graphic design. In ARST 3205 (Digital Video I), we learned how to use Adobe Premiere Pro and how to use video as an art medium. Although I am not an art student, this class encouraged personal creativity and gave me a taste of the art school. Here are some of the projects I have completed.

Social Media Audit

For my role at Zero Mile Marketing, I performed an audit of the social media presence of one of my clients. I examined the client's metrics and competitors, and developed a strategy plan on how to improve.

Workforce Diversity Final Project

In this certificate program, I learned about diversity in the workplace, which is a topic that I hold to great value. For the final project, I worked with a team to outline a diversity initiative program. In my future career, I hope to have an influence in pushing diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Personal Blog

On my blog, you will find a variety of my written works. There are excerpts from my travels, assignments from different classes, and some of my personal experiences. Through my blog, I try to provide value to readers while also using it as an outlet to express my thoughts.
